A rare and unusual 60s Japanese amp from the forerunner of Roland, for sale serviced and in excellent working order and condition.
A rare sixties Ace Tone 601 from Japan. It's had a total overhaul from our vintage amp guru, who's been singing its praises. The mains transformer was in a bad way, so he's hand-wound one of his stunning bespoke vintage replacements (110v/240v) and it's had a full recap. The valves are all Toshiba-branded - very likely made by Mullard in the Blackburn factory for the Japanese market. No 'me-too' circuits copied from Leo or Jim in this one: the internal designs are unique, including the tremolo circuit. This 50w head stands apart from the rest of the swinging sixties crowd; a stunning amp with a distinctive sound and an unusual find. Tony is already muttering about keeping this one for the studio - you have been warned...
